Started the next abstract in my series. This is the only brush I use when doing the detail work. Definitely need a new one SOON… Ugghhh! So costly!
It’s at the point in the painting where I go in to Marathon Mode… Those of you who run probably have hit your “wall” and then it all becomes mechanical… Until the last push where you find the energy and adrenaline to keep going, and you get excited because the end is finally in sight!
Soooooon, my friends, soon this piece will be done! Wahoo!

I was speaking with 70-year old man at an art show I was in last week. We talked Picasso/Francoise, Dali, Degrees, and Physics of Art. He was inspirational and let me speak about what I knew, chimed in his knowledge, and we were like kindred spirits for the whole moment of the show.
I asked him, in his age, what his words were for a young artist. He responded that the heart has to be there. The spunk. The care to every detail, always, that you make. He said that a career as an artist always challenges the maker and his/her intent. I likened it to four seasons of spring, lined up, ever weeding out those who want to be an artist from those who WANT to be an artist and were born to be so. He smiled.
We concluded our merriment by me pondering art movements. Does the artist know that they are part of something bigger while it’s happening? He grew thoughtful and said The Best Ones never know, because they are so completely in their creation and their element that they are paving the way for an unknown movement.
I really hope to be a a stone or two in the pillar of a new movement. Perhaps I am on to something with my paintings. Perhaps I am not.
I guess time will tell.
Life is Art.

Today. Spent $500 to fix my car so that I can get back to Colorado by Sunday for work. Awesome. I posted this same factoid on my facebook, and lo- a friend offered to buy this painting of mine (Crete, Feb 2010. 11×14″) to ease the costs.
I believe in Karma. I believe that in this, the individual is able to manifest their own success by staying calm and positive in otherwise stressful situations.
So, in lieu of this all, I present the link to some of the paintings I have for sale. Perhaps Karma will tickle my toes again!
